The reason that I became a therapist

As a person who experienced my parents’ divorce during childhood, I was subconsciously affected by the surrounding environment, accumulated negative things, pain, inhibition and stress. Until a moment of life when it’s the last straw, I told myself:

“That’s enough, I cannot live like this any more! I will not let the old habits and behaviours influence negatively on my mood, on my relationship and my own family. I want to live a meaningful and happy life from now on. I want to feel peace in my heart!”

Since then, I have studied psychotherapy. By self-researching, participating in intensive courses, being a client and also listening to my friends as always when they encounter difficult time, I realize that psychotherapist is what I am calling for.

Years ago, I actually stood on the threshold of ending my life as everything was meaningless. However, perhaps the survival instinct pulled me back to be alive. My mind was awakened that helped me see the truth and beauty of life.

One day, my close friend asked me:

“Have you seen life meaningful now?”

And I answer:

“That’s a good question! Other than living for other people, for family, for my becoming parents, I used to think that living for myself is meaningless basically as I need nothing for me. But now, I myself want to make my life meaningful for every moment I live.”

The search for meaning of being alive has led me to be positive, keep calm with the unexpected things, find my inner happiness and peace. A part of life, there are things out of our control. It still can make us drain, angry... However now I’ve learnt that I cannot against the outside universe, but I can manage my inner own self better to get out my own negativities faster. More than that, I really enjoy to work out with others to reach their goals and make better life.

Share with me what makes you suffer,

your indecisions, your unwanted emotions or habits. Let's get better!
